Current major research projects:

  1. Working as Principal Investigator of a project entitled, “Developing salinity tolerant rice cultivar through transformation of plasma-membrane and tonoplast Na+/H+ antiporter genes”. The project is being funded by the Ministry of Education, the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
  2. Working as Co-Investigator of the project entitled, “Institutions to support intensification, integrated decision making and inclusiveness in agriculture in the East Gangetic Plain”. The project is being funded by Austraian Centre for International Agricultural Research.
  3. Working as Principal Investigator in the project entitled, “Morphological and physiological characterization of wild relatives of rice for their better utilization in improvement of cultivated rice”. The project is being funded by Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES), BAU.
  4. Working as Principal Investigator in the project entitled, “Assessing soil fertility and sustainable production of tobacco based cropping system in Kusthia, Rangpur and Chittagong region of Bangladesh”. The project is being funded by British American Tobacco, Bangladesh.

  1. Worked as Principal Investigator of the project entitled, “Cell and tissue specific regulation of sodium homeostasis conferring salinity tolerance in rice”. The project was funded by BAS-USDA.
  2. Worked as Principal Investigator of the project entitled, “Regulation of HKT-transporters mediated Na+/K+ ionic homeostasis in rice and a rice-related halotolerant model species Porteresia coarctata”. The project was funded by The Academy of Sciences for Developing World (TWAS).
  3. Worked as Principal Investigator of the project entitled, “Enhancing the crop productivity through adoption of climate smart technologies in the salinity area of Bangladesh”. The poject is being funded by National Agricultural Technology Program: Phase II Project, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council, Farmgate, Dhaka 1215.
  4. Worked as Principal Investigator in a project entitled “Screening of salt-tolerant landraces of rice and other crop species”. This project was funded by Bangladesh Agricultural University Research Systems (BAURES).
